High on the hillside above the western shores of Lake Maggiore, this ground-floor apartment for 6 is an ideal base from which to explore the lake and surrounding country. The private garden, with panoramic lake views, offers a relaxing retreat for guests after a busy day out on the water or hiking in the hills.

The apartment has a spacious open-plan living space which manages to be light and airy as well as cosy with an open fireplace. Double French windows open onto the terrace where guests can dine al fresco thanks to the outdoor dining table, with a large parasol.

Back indoors, the seating area has 2 sofas with a flat-screen TV. There is another dining table and chairs with a hatch into the separate kitchen for easy serving. The kitchen itself is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and coffee machine.

Sleeping
Bedroom 1: The stylish master bedroom, with wood-panelled walls, is furnished with a king-size double bed, sofa, flat-screen TV and a wardrobe plus a glass door opening out onto the garden.
Bedroom 2: A light-filled bedroom with a king-sized double bed, a single bed, a laptop-friendly workspace and a wardrobe.
Bedroom 3: This cosy room with a view of the lake, has a single bed and a wardrobe.

The tiled bathroom is equipped with a shower, a full bath with a shower head, bidet, basin and WC.

Location
The apartment is in the hamlet of Poggio Radioso which is the starting point for several panoramic hiking trails. The village has a bar but for other amenities, guests will find everything they need in Lesa (12 minutes). This picturesque town is well-served with supermarkets, restaurants and cafés. Its weekly market (Thursday mornings) is an excellent source of the finest and freshest local produce for guests to cook at home.

The lakeside promenade, the Lungolago Lesa makes a wonderful walk at any time of day. For trips out on the lake visitors can hire e-boats or more traditional boats in the town. Back on land, there are beaches on the lake where you can sunbathe and swim in the clear waters. Spiaggia dell’Erno (15 minutes) is particularly popular.

Away from the lake, visitors can enjoy hiking and mountain biking as well as horse-riding at Le Fontanelle Ranch (3 minutes walk).

Milan’s international Malpensa airport is a 40-minute drive.
