There is one bedroom with Queen size bed and one living-room with one sofa bed (double). Aix-en-provence is definitely one of the ww wonderful places-to-be ! Nestled in one of the rare quiet street of the very center, without any cafés or restaurant terraces, our apartment "la Méjanes" is located in-between the City Hall and the Cours Mirabeau (the "Champs Elysées" of Aix), 50 meters from the daily farmers market place, 80 mtrs from an open 7/7 till midnight Monop' supermarket and next to a number of boulangeries, boutiques, art galeries, museums and other places-to-be. You will benefit from a brand new fully equipped open-plan kitchen with all the modern amenities you would need for a short or longer stay : dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge and freezer, convection and microwaves ovens, 4-hobs ceramic plate with its extractor fan and a full range of small electrical appliances such as Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster, ... Elegantly and recently renovated the lounge is furnished with a comfortable 2-p rapidly convertible sofa bed (brand new and classified "daily Sleeping"),a bar with stools and a 4-p dining area. Its atmosphere will charm you with its linen & caramel harmony which respects and enhances its ancient elements : black marble fireplace, 18th c. "gypseries", moulded beams and nice high ceilings. As well as its full modern comfort : air conditionning, double glazed windows for quiet and cool nights, laptop desk, flat screen Lcd Hdtv, Hifi, free unlimited internet wifi access. The bathroom and the separate toilet, both having windows, include a spacious 'wide rainning' walk-in shower and a heated towel rail. Environment care household and toilet preps are provided. The bedroom is furnished with a highly comfortable 160x200 queen size bed with memory foam + multi spring mattress (brand New), and benefits from a spacious wardrobe where you may put all your belongings. A luggage rack, a valet wardrobe and a full-size miror will be at your disposal. The most attractive asset of this old european charm apartment with premium comfort is its situation in a quiet peaceful lane while being in the heart of the social & cultural Aix life : Provençal food markets, boutiques, restaurant & café terraces ; but also the Archbishop's Palace (Opera Festival), Grand Théâtre de Provence, Black Pavilion of the Preljocaj Ballet, Granet Museum (cezanne) ... The Aix Historical Centre being fully pedestrian and the downtown car parks a bit expensive, arriving by car is not advised. The apart is right in the Center, every place-to-be is at less than a 10' walk and for your outside Provençal tours the advise is to rent a car downtown on a per day basis for the only days you will be touring away, saving then sensible fees in renting and parking. And coming from the airpt or the Tgv train station are frequent shuttle buses or taxis. If, nevertheless, you'll be arriving with a car the nearest car park is La Rotonde at a 6' walk from the apart. And another smart plan is the newly opened 5* hôtel Renaissance car park at a 12' walk from the apart and that you can reserve in advance on onepark.fr (€50 for 1week up to 160 for 4wks, i.e. €6 to 7/day!). During the Summer Opera Festival, which starts in June, and if interested, we can provide our guests with complimentary passes to attend the masterclasses, repetitions or short lyric pieces of world renowned artists who always perform in prestigious places such as Hôtel Maynier d'Oppède or Italian-style Théâtre du Jeu de Paume. Coming from Paris and recently retired in Aix we're living at a 10' walk from the apartment if any help or tours advices were needed. We personally welcome each of our guests and leave at their disposal maps, touristic and restaurant guides, calendars of events, as well as all our best deals/favorites wine bars, tapas or smart restaurants, fruits & veggies or wine producers, Aix hidden secrets or places-to-be. Private historical walking tours can be arranged upon request. Our prices are all in and do include Tourists Taxes, all charges (o.w. heating or A/c and unlimited internet wifi access); bed, toilet & household linen and the end of stay cleaning fees. Complimentary Nespresso coffee caps , basic groceries and welcome drinks will be at your disposal on arrival. The Cezanne's Sainte Victoire Mountain hiking trails and the Picasso's Vauvenargues Castle can easily be reached from the center by shuttle buses. Notice that, apart from its own charm and "art de vivre", Aix can also be a perfect base to visit France and Southern Europe : - within a Less-than-one-hour car drive or buses links you may enjoy Avignon and its Papal Palace, Lourmarin and the Luberon National Park, Arles and the Camargue Natural Park, Les Baux de Provence and the Alpilles, Cassis and its pristine Calanques, - with a One-and-a-half-hour car drive or one day coach tour be a happy few and enter the legend in St Tropez, Cannes, St Paul de Vence or Monaco, - the glamourous Paris is just at a one hour low cost shuttle flight (or 3 hours Tgv ride) and so do are the unforgettable Venice, Roma and Barcelona. So, drive your dreams... and enjoy "la Mejanes-en-provence". Private apartment with full access. Living at a 10' walk from the apartment we remain at our guests' disposal for any help or tour advices they could need. The apartment is located right in the heart of the lively pedestrian Historical Center, next to the City Hall, the daily provençal and the flowers market places and the Cours Mirabeau (the Champs Elysées of Aix). The Historical Center of Aix is fully pedestrian and car parks are just within a nice 5' walk. Aix Tgv train station and Marseille airpt are linked to Aix center with every-15' (tgv) or 30' (airport) shuttle buses or taxis. The apart is disinfected after each rental by a specialized company, check-ins can be done without contacts (secured key box).
