You'll be on the edge of Fournès, a village on the Causses, rich in historic heritage, with its old centre and churches. From the Grand Rue car park, take the Sentier des Fosses for a beautiful 6km walk lined with oak trees, lavender and rosemary. This is a paradise for gourmets, wine-lovers, hikers, cyclists, swimmers, canoeists and rock-climbers. Fancy a day out by car? There's plenty to do in the surrounding area: Fournès is 9 km from the Pont du Gard, 14 km from the Gorges du Gardon, 20 km from Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and Avignon, and 21 km from the magnificent medieval town of Uzès, or Tarascon with its castle on the Rhône.
