Description

The accommodation enjoys an excellent location in the idyllic Megalochori on the island of Santorini in the Aegean. The traditional village is not very well known yet among tourists and so is a hidden gem on the island.

The manor house was renovated with modern amenities, preserving its character and style, and is therefore very popular among many photographers. You go through the double doors in the courtyard into the spacious living and dining room with magnificent vaulted ceilings and original wooden floors. It provides a sofa suite, satellite TV and a dining table with chairs. The two bedrooms, each with a double bed, are accessed from the central living room. The shared bathroom consists of a shower, washbasin and toilet. The kitchen with a stone archway is fully-equipped with Smeg kitchen appliances. Free wireless Internet access is available.

The outdoor area starts by going through the imposing entrance gate made of wood into a secluded courtyard with a garden, as well as a beautiful pool in a Moroccan style. Various lounge furniture, a hammock, deckchairs and a parasol are provided for relaxing. There is a second smaller terrace area with a dining table and chairs for dining outdoors under the Santorini sky.

Special features are a daily room service and 24H concierge services. There are public parking spaces right nearby.

The excellent location in the little village is a good starting point for getting to know the many places of interest on this unique island, as well as the nearby beaches. It is just 6km to the vibrant town Fira, to get to know the other side of the island. Megalochori is known for its export of Vinsanto wine, which is still produced on the island. The locality also has strong connections with Odessa in Russia and so there are some church bells from Russia. Despite the tourist development, the village has kept its traditional and authentic charm. The cobbled roads free of traffic, the Venetian bell towers and the beautiful main square with chic restaurants are among its special characteristics.
