Description
This holiday house is on the south coast of the island, halfway between the two main towns Hora and Batsi, about 12km away. It is the only house in the area and therefore provides plenty of peace and quiet and privacy, as well as a majestic view of the blue Aegean.
The stone pergola with a terrace is at the same level as the house. It measures 150m² and has garden furniture, providing plenty of space to relax. Children can play outdoors and enjoy the nature and the view. In front of the house there is a swimming pool with a direct view of the sea. The site is completely enclosed and has two parking spaces.
The house with its architecture of wood and stone, together with the special light on the island and the nearby picturesque beaches and cliffs, forms a unique Mediterranean setting. The 60m² of living space are ideal for four people. The house has a bathroom with a shower and two bedrooms with a double bed (160 x 200cm) and two single beds (90 x 200cm). The kitchen is fully-equipped. There are a dining space and a living room with a traditional fireplace. The house is fitted with fans, but which are rarely used, due to the climatic conditions. In spring, summer and autumn there is always a slight breeze, and the stone walls of the house ensure a pleasant indoor temperature in summer. In winter there are separate electric radiators.
It is 5km to the nearest supermarket in Palaiopoli. Right near the house there are the two beaches Apothikes and Halkolimionas. You can even see the house up on the cliff from the latter. As the island of Andros is not far from Athens, it is a popular weekend destination for Athenians. It is an island rich in history, with lovely beaches and plenty of green landscapes in the inland area. Andros is a paradise for hikers. Many trails lead through the impressive landscape with wild flowers and fascinating archaeological sites. The island capital Hora has remarkable architecture to offer, a mixture of different building styles. You can stroll through the narrow alleys and admire churches or museums, or visit cafés, shops and restaurants.
Internet access is possible by means of a USB stick with a 3G network, which guests must bring with them. The local network is sufficient for this.
