LOCATION : The property, two Restored Stone Homes of an old farmer Hamlet is surrounded by a forest area in a quiet unspoiled landscape. It offers a unique view on the garden, the peaks of Mount Parnon and the nearby village of Amygdalia. It is placed near Leonidio between the beaches and the mountain villages at a distance of 18km from Mount Parnon and Leonidio city, on the way to Kyparissi. The beaches of Fokianos and Poulithra are a 15-minute drive away (12km). The high mountains touch the sea creating picturesque beaches. There is a cool and dry atmosphere, pleasant in the summer nights.
LANDSCAPE AND VEGETATION A forest area is around the property, covered with maple trees, oak, wild pistachio, almond trees, shrubs and aromatic plants such as oregano and thyme. There are no commercial farming activities, no greenhouses, vegetable crops, fruit tree plantations or olive trees cultivations - it is unspoiled nature. The land is as it has been for centuries and is still used by local farmers shepherding their goats and sheep.THE CLIMATE AND THE ALTITUDE -The altitude is 650m above sea level. The temperature is pleasantly fresh during the summer nights, without the moisture and mosquitoes of the coastal areas and of the city. The Climate here is pleasant, cool and dry. The drinking water is coming directly from Mount Parnon.
FEATURES: A self contained two-bedroom holiday Home of 95m2 opening out to large verandas and a large garden area. It features 2 large BEDROOMS : A main bedroom with double bed. A second bedroom with two single beds. An extra foldaway bed for a 5th person, for a child is available, on request. The house is equipped with a private BATHROOM with bath, hairdryer and washing machine, towels and bed linen are provided. The accommodation is fitted with a charming, spacious LIVING ROOM with sitting and dining place, wood stove, study corner and KITCHENETTE fitted with a fridge, stovetop and coffee machine. The house is heated, a flat-screen TV-Sat and Free unlimited WiFi (very fast 4G +) is provided. Private parking and a Barbeque area with outdoor dining place and 2 large verandas. The House is ideal for relaxing vacations, for swimming, fishing, diving, climbing, cycling, hiking, and as base for exploring the Peloponnese. For one or two couples or for a family with two or three children. It is suitable also for long-term rentals (Spacious and pleasant living room, study office, washing machine, Kitchen, barbeque, outdoor eating place).WALKING, CYCLING & CLIMBINGThe property is situated in an excellent location surrounded by nature for a walking or cycling holiday near Leonidio. Walking options range from gentle strolls through the nearby villages of Amygdalia, Pigadi and Peleta to more energetic hiking along the old shepherd paths to the beaches of Poulithra and Fokianos.The location also provides a very good base for road cycling along quiet roads in excellent condition with best of both mountainous terrain and coastal riding. We can recommend opportunities on where to take a break for a refreshing swim in one of the numerous secluded bays or stop and relax for a coffee in a traditional taverna along the way.Further information on possible routes and recommendations on where to go can be tailored on request.The area has now developed a large climbing network and the property is located between the areas in Leonidio and Kiparissi - ideal for beginners through to multi stage advanced walls.
