Capstan Cottage Portsalon - formerly a coastguard cottage - sits on an elevated site in Donegal, overlooking Lough Swilly with views of Knockalla Mountains to the rear.

There are two holiday cottages available to rent, Capstan Cottage Portsalon sleeping 6 and Anchor Cottage Portsalon sleeping 4 guests comfortably. Both coastal holiday cottages have been sympathetically refurbished, both oozing charm and character.

Capstan Cottage Portsalon Description – Sleeps 6 This holiday cottage has a delightful open-plan kitchen, living room and dining room area. The open plan style creates the perfect atmosphere for a self catering holiday with family and friends. Capstan Cottage Portsalon has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 guests comfortably:

If you require a high chair and travel cot please remember to request them at the time of booking.

There is a delightful large cottage garden where you and your guests can enjoy outside dining, garden games and endless sea views. Please note the garden is not enclosed so children must be supervised.

Local Area & Tourist Attractions From Capstan Cottage you are in for a treat as there are a number of breath-taking local beaches dotted along Lough Swilly and the Donegal coast. Scraggy Bay, a small rocky beach which has an anchorage, is conveniently located only 1 km from the holiday cottages.

IMPORTANT NOTES1. Heating and Electricity:
This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.

2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival by cash. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.
