Description
The old farmhouse stands in an unspoilt landscape and enjoys a magnificent view at 450 metres above sea level, immersed in the silence of the Umbrian hills, among vineyards and olive groves.
The kitchen-living room on the ground floor offers access to the porch equipped with table and chairs. The property covers about 10,000 m²: one part is a large garden with lawn, while the larger part is covered with olive trees, oaks, cypresses and native bushes. The swimming pool, equipped with sun loungers, parasols and a shower, offers a splendid view of the hilly landscape. In front of the country house is an old handmade fountain. Furthermore, guests have at their disposal an old stone wood-burning oven with barbecue right in front of the house, where they can bake pizza or bread and spend convivial barbecue evenings. The property has a private parking area for guests.
The 19th century country house is built entirely of stone. It was carefully restored by the owners in 2003, preserving the original structure and reusing as many original materials as possible. The load-bearing walls, built with river stones and perfectly preserved, deserve special mention. Even inside, during the restoration, the old charm was maintained: the four-metre high ceilings are made of wooden beams and clay bricks, and the floors are made of handmade clay tiles (some of which are original), giving the impression that time has stood still. On the ground floor of the country house there is a spacious kitchen-dining room with a fireplace, a large dining table, sofas and a well-equipped brick kitchenette. In addition, on the ground floor there is a bedroom with a double bed (160x190cm) and a bathroom with shower en suite, a bedroom with two single beds (each 80x190cm) and a bathroom with whirlpool tub. An external staircase leads to the first floor, where there is a large living room with sofas and a dining table. From here there is access to a well-equipped kitchen with wood-burning stove and a utility room with laundry area. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed (160x190cm), one of which has a private bathroom with shower, and a bedroom with two single beds (80x190cm each). Another bathroom has a bathtub. All the windows in the villa are fitted with mosquito nets. The living room and kitchen offer a view of the pool, while the bedrooms offer a view of the surrounding hills. The rooms are tastefully and elegantly furnished in the old Arte Povera style. The bedrooms have a precious charm and are all equipped with wrought iron beds. The house offers every comfort: TV in the living room and bedrooms, washing machine, coffee machine, DVD and CD player, stereo system. The fireplaces and wood-burning stove cannot be used.
In the surroundings of the villa there are numerous paths where you can take long walks in nature. Shops, supermarkets and a post office can be found in the village of Allerona Scalo, 2.5 km away. Orvieto is about 6 km away and offers shops of all kinds.
To reach the country house, a dirt road 1.3 km long is necessary, which is not suitable for low and sports cars.
