Description

Cosy 3-room studio flat in Surcuolm/Obersaxen, at the foot of Piz Mundaun, with a wonderful mountain panorama that you won't forget in a hurry!

Our flat is 60m2 large and offers space for max. 5 persons (4 beds, max. 4 adults and 1 child - large bedroom (1 double bed), a small bedroom (1 bunk bed, 2 pers.) If required, we will be happy to provide you with a baby travel cot free of charge.
Especially in winter we recommend a maximum occupancy of 4 persons, when many ski suits have to be hung up and dried.

Great advantage in the summer season
As our guest you will receive the Surselva Guest Card. With it you benefit from various free services (use of the two mountain railways Brigels-Waltensburg-Andiast and Obersaxen-Mundaun, swimming pool, minigolf, museum etc.).

The chairlifts are normally in operation between the 2nd week of July and the 3rd week of October.

Big advantage in the winter season: close to the ski lift! If there is enough snow, a piste is prepared that starts right in front of our house, so you can ski/snowboard down to the chairlift (the piste is a bit narrow and steep, so not suitable for beginners). Otherwise you can reach the Valata valley station within 5 minutes.

You have a large bedroom (1 double bed), a small bedroom (1 bunk bed, 2 pers.)
1 shower/bath/WC, kitchen, oven, dishwasher, microwave, 2 coffee machines (filter coffee or Nespresso), fondue and raclette set, kettle, fireplace, free WIFI, TV, radio, DVD player (as well as various DVDs), and various board games for rainy days. The flat has underfloor heating.
If required, we are happy to provide you with a baby travel cot free of charge.

In the basement there is a ski room as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer (for a fee). There is also a closed car park in a garage.

Description of the village: Obersaxen is a collection of small villages in a sunny location on a plateau at 1000 to 1400 metres above sea level, spread over 12 km. It lies 18 km from the well-known holiday resort of Flims/Laax in the Surselva valley. Ilanz, the "first town on the Rhine", is about 5 km away from Obersaxen. There you will find all kinds of services. The nearest village shop for groceries is in Affeier, 2 km from our house. We recommend travelling by car for those arriving by train/bus, public transport runs regularly in all directions. Summer: There is a healthy climate, many alpine flowers and 150 km of hiking trails. Ideal for hiking or mountain biking in summer. Climbing is also on offer in Obersaxen. The Rhine Gorge near Ilanz - the primeval landscape of the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland" attracts visitors with a rapid rubber dinghy ride and impressive viewpoints. For golfers, the area between the source of the Rhine and the Rhine Gorge offers three exciting golf courses of varying character with the courses in Brigels, Sagogn-Schluein and Sedrun, surrounded by a breathtaking mountain panorama. Top events in summer: -Hillclimbing Obersaxen - motorbike event in which the aim is to climb an almost unconquerable mountain slope (June). -OpenAir Lumnezia - family atmosphere at the traditional festival with camp site, surrounded by a unique mountain backdrop (July). -Opera Viva Obersaxen - exquisite opera works are performed in the hamlet of Meierhof (July). Winter: In winter, the Obersaxen/Mundaun ski area is at your disposal. This includes 8 chair lifts, 7 ski lifts, 2 children's ski lifts, a total of 120 km of ski pistes. Ski school, children's ski school. Cross-country ski trails totalling 30 km, winter hiking trails 40 km. 4 toboggan runs (length 15 km).
