Palazzo Glaser/Kunz
The Palazzo Glaser/Kunz is a listed confectioner's palazzo from the late Baroque period with authentic furnishings. The confectioners from Rhaetia ran important coffee houses in European city centres in the 18th and 19th centuries. After years of neglect, the palazzo was carefully and discreetly restored between 2017 and 2019 under the direction of the artist couple Glaser/Kunz. Today's Palazzo Glaser/Kunz can be experienced to the highest degree in its original state.

It is located in the centre of Borgo Poschiavo with many inns, shops and an indoor swimming pool. A cosy library with tiled stove, a south-facing balcony room and the Stüa (parlour) with tiled stove are located on the 1st floor. The traditional kitchen and the Cucina Moderna are divided into two rooms: there is a traditional wood-burning cooker, an electric oven, two dining tables, two fridges and a gastro coffee machine. On the same floor there is a bureau and a guest room with a double bed. On the 2nd floor there are two further bedrooms (a twin bedroom and the stanza with futon for two people). There is also a children's room with a cot, another balcony room, a dressing room and the bathroom with a free-standing bathtub. There is a second WC and a shower on the mezzanine floor. The palazzo has plenty of outdoor space: a traditionally cultivated vegetable and fruit garden with seating and a rear courtyard with adjoining extension (former laundry house) with barbecue area. There is an outdoor car park in the immediate vicinity. There is free WLAN access in the house. The Palazzo is suitable for guests up to a maximum of 6 people.

On request, a guided tour of the house and the site can be organised, during which some additional rooms will be opened, in which various installations by the artist couple Glaser/Kunz can be seen.

Region:
Poschiavo is the southern valley of the Engadine with a moderate climate (1000 metres above sea level) and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Rhaetian Railway. The neighbouring Val di Campo valley is home to one of the most beautiful Swiss mountain lakes, Lago di Saoseo and Lago di Val Viola.

Location description: The historic confectioner's palazzo is located in sunny Poschiavo, in a southern valley of the Engadine at 1000 metres above sea level. The Val di Poschiavo (Puschlav) is characterised by a moderate mountain climate. The intact historic borgo with its scenic piazza is a protected federal site. A great deal of Italianità radiates into the valley from the neighbouring Italian Valtellina. Many Poschiavo specialities such as pizzoccheri, capunet and taiadin dominate the local menu. Farmers and the catering industry now focus on organic and local products (100% Valposchiavo). The Rhaetian Railway (UNESCO World Heritage Site) takes travellers on an unforgettable three-and-a-half-hour journey in a panoramic carriage from Chur via Bergün, Samedan and Pontresina to Poschiavo. In the neighbouring Val di Campo valley, you can discover some of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland (Lago di Saoseo).
