Description

In the farmhouse built in 1707, which was renovated in 2020 according to building biology guidelines, we rent out a quiet and cosy holiday flat. The studio is ideal for two people. It is equipped with a modern kitchen, bathroom with shower/toilet and pull-out sofa. There is a radio, Internet TV and WLAN. A staircase leads to the gallery under the roof with a cosy double bed. (due to the height of the room, the bed is on the floor)In the newly designed garden you can laze around to your heart's content.as a little break from everyday life, the in-house sauna with colour light therapy can be used for a small extra charge. If you wish, we can also heat up the hot pot in the garden for you to relax in. It is equipped with massage jets and an aerator. (separate tariff / not possible in case of water shortage)We are embedded in a forest and agricultural zone. Schwellbrunn was voted the most beautiful village in Switzerland by the Swiss population in 2017. In summer, beautiful hiking trails can be explored right on the doorstep. There are plenty of bike trails and e-bike routes in the surrounding area. The Appenzellerland and the Lake Constance region offer a variety of culinary, sporting and recreational activities. There is something for everyone in the surrounding area. In winter, various snowshoe hiking trails pass close to the house. A cross-country ski trail can also be used day and night. The farmhouse is situated just outside Schwellbrunn on a private road. Direct access to the house is possible and parking spaces are available right next to the flat. The steep road, paved with Ecoraster, is not necessarily recommended for cars with long wheelbase or lowered cars. The nearest bus stop is a 30-minute walk away. By car it is 10 minutes to Herisau and 20 minutes to the city of St.Gallen or Appenzell.

Village description: Schwellbrunn was voted the most beautiful village in Switzerland by the Swiss population in 2017. It is known for its varied hiking network with great views of the Alpstein and Lake Constance. (Children are also catered for with the puzzle trail and many fireplaces) In winter, various snowshoe hiking trails can be used. There is also a night-time cross-country ski trail in Schwellbrunn. A ski lift (especially suitable for children) is in operation when there is enough snow, and there are various restaurants serving home-style cooking.
