Description
Welcome to Dales Barn Top, a cosy retreat nestled in the charming market town of Hawes, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. This delightful two-bedroom reverse-level cottage is perfect for couples or small families looking to explore the breath-taking Yorkshire Dales National Park. With original features, including exposed beams and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this beautifully presented retreat is the ideal base for your next countryside adventure.
Head inside, and you'll find two well-appointed ground-floor bedrooms: a double room and a single bedroom with a pull-out trundle bed, ideal for a family of four. A convenient WC completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, you’ll find a comfortable living space with a lounge and dining area, equipped with a Smart TV and Wi-Fi, perfect for enjoying during your stay. The well-equipped kitchen awaits, making it easy for a self-catered stay. The family bathroom on this level features a shower, WC, and basin.
Located just a short stroll from the centre of Hawes, Yorkshire's highest market town, renowned for its artisan shops, good pubs, and restaurants, with the famous Wensleydale Cheese right on your doorstep. Enjoy a hearty meal at one of the local pubs or stock up on local produce at the Tuesday market, perfect for creating your own Yorkshire feast back at the cottage. The cottage is also an ideal base for walking or touring, with many ancient castles, abbeys, fine country houses, and tiny village churches to visit.
No visit to Hawes is complete without stopping by the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can sample and purchase the region’s famous cheese. History lovers will enjoy the Dales Countryside Museum, while nature enthusiasts can take a peaceful walk along Gayle Beck or venture to Semerwater Watersports, where you can kayak, sail, or simply admire the wildlife at Semer Water Nature Reserve.
Tackle part of the Pennine Way National Trail, explore the rolling dales of Swaledale, Dentdale, Garsdale, and Wharfedale, or visit stunning natural wonders such as Malham Cove, Brimham Rocks, and the scenic Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.
Dales Barn Top is situated in the heart of Hawes, offering easy access to local amenities, including a community-run petrol station conveniently located next door. While this provides excellent accessibility for topping up fuel and grabbing essentials, guests should be aware that the station operates 24 hours. Off road parking for up to two vehicles is located just beyond the forecourt.
