Description
Holiday home in Bonnieux with swimming pool
House:
Surroundings You are staying 1 km from the famous Pont Julien, one of the best-preserved Roman bridges in France, dating back to 3 BC. The bridge was part of the Via Domitia. Today, the Calavon cycle route (Veloroute du Cavalon) crosses the bridge. Other important sights include the ochre quarries of Roussillon (5 km) and the Château de Lacoste, the former residence of the Marquis de Sade (4 km). Garden and Grounds The house is situated on a small country road leading to one of the most beautiful villages in the Luberon. A large garden is located in front of the house, offering breathtaking views of Bonnieux, Lacoste, and vast lavender fields (all photos taken from the grounds, looking north towards Mont Ventoux, west towards Lacoste, and south and east). Here you can enjoy breakfast in the shade of a plane tree. On the other side of the house, shielded from view, you'll find a landscaped garden with an old olive tree, a saltwater pool (8 x 4 m, 1.50 m deep, heated during the shoulder seasons), and a large covered terrace. The rear garden is bordered by a partially ochre-colored, wooded rocky landscape and a stone wall. The Property Ground Floor The ground floor consists of a small dining room located directly next to the fully equipped kitchen. A large, bright living room with a high ceiling, a beautiful fireplace, a dining table for six, and a comfortable leather sofa is also located on this level. Each room is separated by one or two steps. First Floor Upstairs in the living room, you'll find a mezzanine above the living area, which includes a sofa and armchairs, a television, and a Blu-ray player. To the left of the mezzanine is the first bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet). A second bedroom is located as an extension of the first bedroom (a door connects the two bedrooms, but each has its own entrance, so it is not a through bedroom and can be used separately). Passing through this second double bedroom, you will find a second staircase leading down to the house entrance. To the right of the stairs is the third bedroom, also with a double bed, and diagonally opposite the two bedrooms is a bathroom with a bathtub and toilet.
