My wife and I booked this apartment for four nights in February 2026. We arrived on February 14th to find no heat or hot water available. We contacted Belvilla support, CheckMyGuest (the property manager) and Vrbo (where we made our original booking) and received no response in 24 hours. Finally only Vrbo responded, and they were unable to reach the property host for assistance. By our second day, the temperature in the apartment was 11°C (below France's legal minimum 18° interior temperature for rental properties) and we still had no hot water for basic hygiene. With no response to our calls for help, we left and found other accommodations. Having stayed only one night of the four, we requested a refund for the unused portion of our stay. This was denied when we were told the building superintendent had checked the unit and said the heat and hot water were fine. We've been called liars and ripped off for a miserable stay we didn't complete. We will never use Belvilla again, and strongly advise everyone else to avoid this unethical company. Yes they have lovely properties and I'm sure most people have wonderful experiences, but it's how a company responds when they fail to meet their obligations and promises that is the true measure of quality, and Belvilla failed utterly to help us at the time of our stay or to take responsibility afterward. Zero stars from us.
