Description
Clauiano is located in the heart of Friuli, is one of the 'Borghi più belli d'Italia' and is 4 km from the Unesco town of Palmanova. Aquileia is about 20 km to the south. The tourist resort of Grado is about 30 km away. The historic Casa Foffani with wine cellar is located in the centre of the village of Clauiano, one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in Italy'. The building is fully protected as a historical monument and is a well-preserved example of pre-Venetian architecture in Friuli. The main entrance on the village square provides direct access to the vineyards. The holiday flat is located in a quiet and protected area, with a view of the courtyard and garden.
Guests have at their disposal a large garden where they can also have meals or relax.
The flat is arranged on 3 floors: living room on the ground floor (30 sqm) with French windows and a view of the garden. A natural stone staircase leads to the 1st floor, where there is a kitchen (gas cooker, refrigerator, microwave, dishes and pots and pans), a double room (24 sq m) and a bathroom (bath/shower, bidet, WC). The small antique wooden staircase leads to the 2nd floor where the second bedroom (double room, 24sqm) and a second bathroom (shower, bidet, WC) are located. If necessary, a third bed can be added in the bedroom. A cot is also available. All rooms are very bright and offer views of the garden or the village rooftops. There is also some original antique furniture. Heating throughout the flat in winter, air conditioning in both bedrooms in summer.
In the surroundings there is much to see: Palmanova, Aquileia, Cividale, to name but the nearest cities of art. But in about an hour you can reach other seaside resorts (Grado, Sistiana, Lignano) or the Florentine Dolomites. Trieste and Venice are also easy to reach!
Guests are invited to visit the wine cellars, the 'Colours of Wine' exhibition and a painting exhibition. It will also be possible to taste the wines produced on the farm.
