In rural Alentejo, in Montemor-o-Novo, this charming (shared) former farmhouse combines rustic charm with modern comfort. The quinta houses 3 holiday homes, each with its own entrance. All guests can make use of the delightful communal garden and swimming pool, where you can cool off in the summer. There is a separate pool for young children. You can also fish in the reservoir belonging to the property. Located on the scenic N2 and nestled in an 8-hectare olive grove with a tropical garden, it offers an escape for larger families. Take a dip in the large communal pool (8 x 20 m), relax on the terrace overlooking the rolling hills and the castle of Montemor-o-Novo, or enjoy convivial barbecue evenings. The property is wheelchair-friendly with wide entrances and thresholds. The historic town of Montemor-o-Novo is nearby, while Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers Roman ruins and lively squares. Since the house is situated on the Rota dos Vinhos, wine lovers can discover local, family-run vineyards along the route. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking, cycling, horseback riding, or water sports, or tour past the many castle and monastery ruins and through vast cork oak forests and (almost) deserted villages, with Lake Alqueva and the megaliths of Cromeleque dos Almendres a short distance away. Local restaurants in Montemor and surrounding areas serve hearty regional dishes. End your day by the pool under the stars, enjoying the peace and beauty of the authentic Alentejo countryside. Sustainability was taken into account during the renovation of the quinta; the house is self-sufficient and is kept warm/cooled by a heat pump when necessary. The accommodation is wheelchair accessible: the entrance is wide and there are no thresholds in the house. The garden and pool are also easily accessible. The pool is open from May until October, depending in part on the weather. Your car is parked comfortably in the shade under the carport.
