Dampland is located directly on the Baltic Sea coast between Kiel and Flensburg. One of the most beautiful beaches in northern Germany is located at this popular bathing and holiday resort. Cosy holiday homes and the newly renovated Ostseehotel Midgard are located in the middle of Dampland, Germany's first Viking resort.

In family-friendly Dampland, the emphasis is on nature and health. That's why the resort is almost car-free and all facilities are easily accessible on foot. The four kilometre long sandy beach with its own marina is right next to the accommodation.

The extensive Viking resort offers a very varied range of activities all year round. These include the large indoor amusement park Funhalla, children's entertainment, an adventure pool, various restaurants, sauna areas, wellness and much more. The popular excursion destinations of Eckernförde (20 km) and Kappeln (20 km) are just a few kilometres away.

Location

Between Kiel and Flensburg, this large holiday park is located on a 64 km² area with a speed limit. Distance to Kiel approx. 50 km, Flensburg approx. 60 km. The nearest railway station is Eckernförde approx. 20 km away.

Entertainment / leisure activities on site

‘You'll never be bored in Dampland! Adventure for the kids and time-out for the parents - whatever the weather and season. If the beach is not so inviting, the indoor Funhalla amusement park, the bowling and sports bar Kubbsala, the discovery pool or KidsClub await.

Parents can look forward to a fantastic sauna area with sea views and fitness equipment. And the beach invites the whole family for long walks. At any time of the year! ’

3,500 square metre indoor fun park: indoor skate park, waveboards, inline track, climbing tower, squash court, free climbing on 270 square metres with 53 different routes, beach hall, badminton hall, multifunctional playground, archery, arrow weaving and axe throwing. Outdoor area: 2 tennis courts, Dampland Expedition (electric jeep tour), handcart hire (partially chargeable).

Kids Club: Kids Club with childcare and children's entertainment for children aged 1 to 12 years in age-appropriate groups (during local opening hours), indoor climbing garden with ball pool, hobby corner and much more. A varied daily programme offers highlights such as theme days or children's disco.

"Kubbsala: Bowling & Sports Bar; 10 bowling lanes, 2 billiard tables, darts & table football provide space for perfect leisure activities with bar & American finger food in a cosy Viking atmosphere.

Adventure pool: indoor and outdoor pools, almost 100 m long adventure slide with light projection and LED effects, 66 m long speed slide with LED light effects and slide time measurement, wide slide, children's pool, laser projected polar lights and the Värmland Viking Village (sauna village) with light, infusion and herbal saunas, plus cinema and exhibitions for children to explore. In the mornings, Värmland can be used daily as a textile family sauna.

Family reunion: Here it's the little ones who come first. Crafts, painting, games, singing, fun activities and much more - together with other children and the animation team. And of course, Leif the mascot will also be there.

Wakeboard and waterskiing facilities and Viking golf with 18 themed holes.

Playground equipment and balls can be hired at Dampland.

There is an equestrian centre about 1 km away and a golf course about 20 km away.

Trolleys are available for hire.

Bicycles and beach chairs are available for hire (seasonal).

Wellness and fitness (NB: Closed from 5 to 18 May 25 due to renovation work)

Mare Mara: Relax in the sauna area with 8 different saunas with relaxation room with sea view and relaxation pool or swim in our seawater swimming pool (Mon-Fri from 16:00 and Sat-Sun and public holidays from 12:30 to 19:30). The fitness equipment park overlooking the Baltic Sea is available at certain training times: Mon-Fri from 17:15 to 21:00 and Sat + Sun from 14:15 to 19:00.

Facilities / Accommodation

The spacious and well-maintained resort consists of a hotel with over 400 rooms and 207 holiday homes located directly at the marina. Directly adjacent to the hotel are three restaurants (one à la carte and two buffet restaurants), beach and gin and cocktail bar, American diner (seasonal), harbour and smoking pub, supermarket with bakery, shop, souvenir shop, stand up paddling (seasonal), launderette and the marina. Also beach chair hire (seasonal). The large car park at the entrance to the village is free of charge and the shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes right in front of the hotel. Gastronomy / Catering

It's wonderful when you can just sit back and enjoy your holiday, isn't it? The resort has three restaurants (one à la carte and two buffet restaurants), a beach bar, the Hammaburg gin and cocktail bar, a harbour bar and the Moby Dick smoking bar (partly seasonal). A covered walkway leads to the buffet restaurant Spitsbergen and the Nordic à la carte restaurant Isfjord by the marina. Isfjord has an excellent kitchen with regional à la carte dishes as well as a large, delicious breakfast buffet, coffee and cake and a cold and hot evening buffet in the buffet restaurant. The other buffet restaurant, Limerick, with a large play area outside, is located directly at Damper Markt.

Children/Family

At family gatherings, it's the younger guests who take centre stage. Crafts, painting, playing, singing, fun activities and much more - together with other children and the animation team. And of course, Leif the mascot is also part of the party.

Cots (up to 3.9 years) are available free of charge on request.

High chairs are available free of charge on request.

The baby comfort package includes bottle warmer, toilet seat, baby bathtub and changing mat. It can be ordered free of charge subject to availability and by prior arrangement.

The Limerick restaurant has a large play area for children.

There are a total of 4 playgrounds in Dampland.

Dogs are welcome

Dogs are very welcome at Dampland! 1-2 dogs per booked room or holiday home are possible on request. Dog-friendly equipment with dog basket, blanket and bowl. A fee of €20 per dog per night is charged.

Dampland has its own dog beach in high season from 1 April to 30 September and unlimited beach fun from early October to late March.

Dogs are welcome in the restaurants Spitsbergen, Isfjord and Limerick and in the bars Moby Dick and Dat Ship. Unfortunately, they are not allowed in Hammaburg and the beach bar.

Hiking and walking trails, a playground, nature reserves, a pharmacy and a veterinarian can be found in the area.

Dogs on a lead are mandatory.

Please note: From 01 January 2025, the city will charge an accommodation tax of 2% of the rental price. This tax will be charged on departure in addition to the rental price.
