In the neighbourhood you can visit Firenze, Arezzo, Siena, San Gimignano, the Chianti and the Casentino. Pisa and Lucca are not far more then one hour and a half by car. The quiet that you can enjoy never would imagine the terrible battles that took place within its walls. The Tower, built by the Florentines around the eleventh century probably on the ancient remains of a Lombard tower and soon included among the fortifications of the Florentine Republic, victoriously faced many battles; destroyed in 1312 by Arrigo VII troops, was rebuilt after their departure. Today stands mute witness of those days, available to those who even just for one day want to experience the thrill of feeling a lord of the castle.
