In the neighbourhood you can visit Firenze, Arezzo, Siena, San Gimignano, the Chianti and the Casentino. Pisa and Lucca are not far more then one hour and a half by car. The Tower, built by the Florentines around the eleventh century probably on the ancient remains of a Lombard tower and soon included among the fortifications of the Florentine Republic, victoriously faced many battles; destroyed in 1312 by Arrigo VII troops, was rebuilt after their departure.
