The location facilitates reaching both airports (Pisa and Florence) in a 50 minutes drive travel via the road Florence-Pisa-Livorno. In addition to visiting Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, with more time available (but still with day trips) you can visit Arezzo, Moltepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza; famous places for wines like Brunello and Montepulciano and the typical cheese of the region. Nearby the house you can visit the cellars of old farms and castles where you can taste wines, sparkling wines and local products. The old local route Via Francigena, which in the Middle Ages connected Rome to Canterbury, is situated at a distance of 1 Km from the house and is easily explored on foot or horseback. Just a 15 minutes drive from here is the train station to reach Siena, Florence and Pisa, much better then going by car. Nearby you can also find a tennis court, golf course, riding stables for horseback riding, bike hire and minibus hire (8 people) with a guide. You can also book a rental bike in advance, there's taxi's (up to 9 people for small evening shifts) and on request a midweek housecleaning.
