The over 400-year-old stone house transports its guests back in time. The original walls and charming details, from the kitchen to the decor, are what make it so special. Quietly situated on a south-facing slope and with a marvellous view over Lake Maggiore, you can enjoy unforgettable hours here far away from tourist standards.
Important to know
The house does not have heating throughout. The best months for travelling are March to October. On cooler evenings, the large fireplace on the ground floor provides warmth, while only the bathroom on the first floor is heated electrically.
Room layout
On the ground floor is the rustic kitchen with dining area, which leads directly into the garden under the pergola. A steep external staircase connects the upper floors, each with a bedroom and balcony. A seating area surrounded by palm trees invites you to linger.
Location and connections
Casa Vecchia is located around ten minutes by car from Locarno and Tenero and is also easily accessible by public transport. A bakery, a grocery shop and local restaurants are within walking distance. The nearest bus stop is just under 500 metres away.
Activities and experiences
Hikes through dense forests, a cable car ride to Cardada with panoramic views from Cimetta, a visit to the Madonna del Sasso in Orselina or relaxing hours in the wellness park and at Lido Locarno make for varied days.
