Description
HVacation in architectural monument combine heritage protection and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, carefully renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model offers a double advantage: monuments are revitalised and guests experience a stay in an extraordinary building. The idea was implemented by the ‘Ferien im Baudenkmal’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.
Public transport: Train to Mendrisio. Postbus to Meride
By car: Mendrisio motorway exit, at the roundabouts continue in the direction of Arzo. Drive past the village of Rancate, up the hill, through Besazio and on to Arzo. In Arzo, at the entrance to the village (roundabout), follow the road to Meride. At the next junction, keep right and follow the signs to Meride. Continue straight ahead.
Parking: There are a total of three parking spaces at the entrance to the village and further parking spaces in the village square.
Number of persons 4-5: 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 with a double bed (160/200), bedroom 2 with two single beds (90x200). There is another sleeping possibility on the gallery (80x190).

Heating: The flat is heated by central heating (oil heating), a stove in the 2nd living room on the gallery.
